My name is Jeffrey and I serve as Deacon Officer of Steel Valley Church. My primary responsibilities include supporting the Youth Ministry, and Outreach Ministry. I was born and raised in Elyria and after joining the Air Force in 1989, I have also lived all over the world including Guam, Korea, North Dakota, and North Carolina. I currently reside live in Cortland. I have been married since 2007 to Candace, and we have 3 children, Savannah, Adalynne, and Josiah. I have earned an A.S from Community College of the Air Force (Munitions Sytems and Journalism), a B.A. from Mount Olive College (Business Management), and M.Div. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Counseling). My passion within the church is helping others grow in sound doctrine and apologetics. I also am passionate about meeting people’s needs and sharing the gospel.

What is the Gospel? Jesus is known for His love and compassion for the people, He’s known for being a great Teacher, He’s known for setting the example during His ministry, and He’s known for taking upon Himself, not only my sins but the sins of the whole world.  In a world where the culture is drifting more and more towards Godlessness, how much more is it in need of hope. So the Gospel is a message of hope to a lost and dying world. It’s a road map to Salvation that shows us where we are headed is we don’t take the exit. The Gospel shows us how to come to Christ and have a personal relationship with Him, and ultimately take on His righteousness and in doing so have access to our Heavenly Father, and be given the Holy Spirit to go and take this same message to others.
